The Christmas rose (Helleborus nero) is another small miracle of nature here. Its beautiful white to pink blossoms are among the first to herald spring, beginning in February. The Christmas rose reminds us that every new beginning requires strength and perseverance, and that it is worthwhile to persevere, even if there are setbacks (in its case, when the snow covers everything again in spring).
